Welcome to Lobsessed February! Outside of our weekly album reviews, there is so much more we listen to that we want to talk about, so every month we’re going to post a recap of all the songs, albums, and artists I’ve been into the past month.
Still not off my Jeremy Zucker kick from January.. This song is sweet and a little sad and feels super Gen Z and I’m all for it. Screaming this in the car anytime I’m on the road.
I am so here for a Kacey Musgraves album in 2024. I really love so much about this single, it feels super Kacey Musgraves. I am hesitant to put her back into a golden hour-shaped box because the song doesn’t really do that but definitely feels more folky & country in comparison to her last album.
I’m back in my bedroom pop wave and I’ve found two songs that I don’t think are an immersive display of talent but for some reason continue to catch me coming back to them. The first is ketamine by Mehro, I know nothing about Mehro but I like this melody. Not crazy about the vocal performance just something about the chorus that keeps getting replayed.
The other is BULLSEYE by ARDN, it’s a cool R&B bedroom-pop vibe. really not a fan of the intro but once I get through that my ears are blessed with a little treat.
LIL YACHTY HAS ARRIVED TO SAVE HIP-HOP. SO-CAL LOFI JAZZ RAP IS SO HERE BABY. WIN !!!!!
Finally, my personal favorite industry plant is finally getting the attention from the label it deserves. Isaac Dunbar and RCA have a banger on their hands. The production, writing, and vocal performance are screaming talent.
That’s everything I’ve got this month! Happy listening!
