What is Pop Lobster?

We are a family affair newsletter from two brothers interested in music, data, marketing, and pop culture. Starting as a passion project, Pop Lobster gives us an outlet to write about our never-ending opinions on popular music and the industry.

Music has been woven into our personalities (….Icey November & Cardi C). Ever since we were old enough to have a Spotify account, we’ve been building playlists, obsessing over our personal libraries, and living our lives with speakers rocking. After years of conversations, debates, and rankings, we want to write publicly about our shared enthusiasm for the music industry.

We’re using this blog for a lot of different things we like to talk about, here are a couple of things you can expect:

For our album reviews, we have some rules.

For each album - one song on the track list can have a 0 (worst song ever, it should never exist), and one 11 (perfect, most incredible song I’ve ever heard).

• A perfect album in both our eyes would get a score of 20.

• A perfect song would get a score of 22.
